Who We Are

We believe architecture should respond clearly to its place, its purpose and the people who inhabit it.

Architecture is the starting point of our work. From the beginning, the dialogue between architecture and engineering has shaped the way we think: design becomes stronger when it understands how things are made, and construction becomes better when it remains guided by the architectural idea.

We seek clear, contemporary and functional architecture shaped by proportion, natural light, carefully considered materials and the relationship between interior and exterior space. For us, functionality is fundamental, and aesthetic decisions are never considered independently of purpose, construction or performance.

AKPRAXIS was founded in Athens in 2002 by architect Christina Konstantaki and engineer Spiros Konstantakis. Over time, the practice has evolved to bring architecture, construction and development together within one continuous process, today carried through 2DESIGN HUB and AKPRAXIS D&C.

What We Do

Architecture & Design

Architecture is where every project begins. Through 2DESIGN HUB, we develop each design from the specific conditions of its site, programme and users, seeking clear spatial relationships, balanced proportions, natural light and an honest use of materials. Our work extends from architectural and interior design to permitting, detailed design and the coordination of the technical disciplines required to transform an initial idea into a buildable project.

Construction

Construction is the continuation of the architectural process. Through AKPRAXIS D&C, we undertake new construction, renovation and project management with particular emphasis on detailing, materials, coordination and quality of execution. Our direct involvement on site allows design decisions to be followed through to the finished building while responding intelligently to the practical realities of construction.

Development

We develop selected residential projects independently and in partnership with property owners and investors. Our involvement can begin before a design exists, with the evaluation of a site’s potential, and continue through architecture, permitting, construction and delivery. By combining development knowledge with design and construction expertise, we aim to create residential projects in which architectural quality and commercial value reinforce one another.

Sustainability

Sustainability is integrated into the way we design and build rather than treated as an additional service at the end of a project. Our approach considers energy performance, material selection, environmental impact, durability and long-term operation from the earliest design stages. AKPRAXIS has been active in BREEAM assessment since 2013 and maintains an ongoing involvement with Sustainable Building Council Greece.
